My Past Halloween Looks

As you all know it's Halloween soon, which is one of my favourite holidays purely because I love experimenting with make up and face paint to create scary looks! My friends also love it so halloween night is always a good one. Anyway I was looking back at old Halloween pictures and thought it would be good to share some on my blog. I have pictures way back into secondary school, which are quite embarrassing. They include an action shot of a halloween play my fiends and I did in front of our school. The make up and costumes do getting better over time haha. I guess I better start planning my make up and outfit for this year. Hope you enjoy.

Halloween Ideas For Everyone!

Hi guys, today I thought I would give you all a few easy and cheap halloween costume ideas that I have found, done or am going to do this halloween!

Theres the just makeup and normal clothes look (which I tend to go for as for me it involves no money at all!) or you can go all out. In this post I have included some that only involve you painting your face, and some extra ideas from movies, tv shows and other random stuff e.g. music videos. So plenty to choose from! 

If you follow me on Pinterest you would see that I have created a halloween board full of crazy looks that you could easily create with your own makeup (maybe with some white face paint as last year I just used baby powder and it didn't work as well as I hoped it would).

The day I turned into a zombie...

This post is going to be a tutorial on how to create a zombie look by using regular shop bought makeup. It is pretty easy and doesn't take long at all. The reason for this post is because my flatmate needed to take pictures of me dressed as a zombie for inspiration for her uni project. So lets get started!

The Make-up

I used a little bit of white face paint to make myself look a little bit pale (not too much as I didn't want it to look obvious) and then concealer for any areas that needed covering up! For the eyes I basically did a smokey eye but without looking in the mirror and made it extra messy (just moved the brush around in any direction on my eye socket, the messier the better). For my cheeks, instead of using my Sleek contouring palette I used dark eyeshadow so that my cheeks looked hollow and creepy! I also dragged the last of the eyeshadow left on the brushes that I used down the sides of my nose (don't know why but it seemed to work). Eyebrow routine was the same as always but I used a darker colour to bring them out.
So if you want to look even more zombie-fied than you already do, you can add some cuts and bruises. To do this, I used eyelash glue and dabbed it around the corner of my mouth and on my cheek bone. Once it is dry try to pick some off (not all) so that the texture is uneven and flaky. Then I added some random colours of eyeshadow on top of the glue (browns, blacks) so it stood out but blended at the same time. Right in the centre I added a dab of red lipstick (try to play around with the colours and amount of lipstick/shadow you use as it can vary at times).

The Hair

As you can see from the pictures I literally just back-combed my hair like crazy and covered it in hairspray. Simple but effective.

Hand Make-up
For a little extra effect, I added black eyeshadow on one of my hands. I added it to the areas that naturally have a shadow to enhance the "dead/zombie" look.

Scary skull halloween makeup

Hey guys, so for my halloween costume this year I took inspiration from the born this way music video by lady gaga. I followed a makeup tutorial on youtube which I thought I needed to share with you as it was amazing and very easy to follow (although in some places it could of been slowed down).

To add a few details in of my own, I brought a fake piercing from Claires which was 3.50 and it fits comfortably unlike some fake piercings. 

For the hair I flipped my head upside down, backcombed it, covered it in hairspray and then gathered it into a messy pony tail right on the top of my head.

Even though halloween has been and gone, this is a good tutorial for next years halloween or even just for a random fancy dress costume!

Cheap halloween/fancy dress costume for two!!

So for a friends birthday party myself and a friend decided that we didn't want to spend any money on anything that we were not going to wear again (such cheap students). So we got thinking and decided we could easily make a Wayne's World costume! For those of you who haven't seen any of the movies I advise you to go and see them, they are too funny!

For this costume ideally you need a blonde and a brunette (if you don't want to invest in any wigs). 

WAYNE: For this costume the brunette will need to wear denim jeans, preferably ripped, converse and a black T-shirt.. all of which you can find in your average wardrobe (As I didn't have a plain black T-shirt I just turned one inside out). To complete the look you need to buy a Wayne's world hat which you can get off of eBay for cheap. Unfortunately this was a last minute costume choice so my friend lent me a plain black one and I painted the logo onto the hat with white paint which you can also do.

GARTH: For this costume the blonde will need to back comb their hair to create a big messy look, a plaid shirt on top of a logo or band tee, along with denim jeans (ripped preferably) and converse. To complete this look they will need to grab a pair of black 'nerd' glasses (3D cinema glasses with the lenses popped out will do the job!).

and in the end we spent a total of 0 pence on our costume.. totally worth it!
